Jason Beutel

With over 19 years experience in the consulting engineering industry, Jason brings global expertise to his role.

After graduating in 1995 Jason joined Robert Bird Group, developing his skills to become a Structural Principal in the Brisbane office in 2003. Establishing himself as a strong Project Deliverer, he was promoted to Queensland Structures Manager in 2004 and Australian Structures Managing Director in 2006.

In 2009, Jason moved to London as Managing Director of the UK and Middle East Operations. Appointed CEO of the Group during his time in the UK, he moved back to Brisbane in 2012.

Warwick Redgrave

Warwick has worked in the construction and development industry for over 50 years, the past 24 with Robert Bird Group.

Warwick commenced as a Building Cadet with Civil & Civic in 1964 and progress to General Manager in Lend Lease Residential and was a Board member from 1977 until 1987.  Throughout his career, Warwick has worked with many of Australia’s best-known developers and on numerous landmark projects.

Chris Potter

Chris graduated with first class honours in 1987 and has extensive experience working in Australia and the United Kingdom.

During this time Chris has worked as a senior structural engineer, design team leader and project director on a number of large scale and iconic projects including the Woolloomooloo Wharves refurbishment, King Street Wharf redevelopment and more recently Barangaroo Headland Park.

In the United Kingdom Chris worked in the field of forensic engineering investigating major structural failures around the world. Chris held the position of NSW State Manager for a number of years prior to his current role.

Gavin McAulay

Gavin McAulay graduated in 1990 and has worked on a variety of projects which include residential, commercial and retail, industrial, infrastructure, and health project throughout Australia and Asia. His engineering knowledge includes the design and detailing of tall structures within earthquake sensitive areas.

Gavin has extensive knowledge and experience in the design of steel structures. In 2004 Gavin was appointed the Principal of Victoria and in 2007 was appointed Principal in charge of Western Australia Operations.

In 2012 Gavin was appointed Australian Building Group General Manager. Gavin is fully conversant with the design and construction practices in earthquake zones using reinforced concrete, post tensioned concrete and structural steel.

Grant Weir

Grant Weir joined the Robert Bird Group in 1986 as a graduate engineer. During his career Grant has acquired extensive international experience and recognition building on his engineering, project management, people management, and business management knowledge and skills. Grant has excellent track record of developing innovative and cost effective design solutions to challenging high-rise projects on congested and difficult sites.

As Group Managing Director for the Centre for Excellence, Grant’s skills in value and concept engineering, management of the design process, and project delivery are well recognised by Robert Bird Group clients.

Scott Wheeler

Scott joined Robert Bird Group in 1997 and has worked on the design and delivery of major projects in Australia, the United Arab Emirates and the United Kingdom.

In Australia, his experience focused on the design of medium to high-rise structures for residential and commercial use. Additionally he gained experience in designing industrial warehouse facilities and sports stadia. In the UAE, he was involved in the design and delivery of the Dubai International Airport Expansion Phase 3, for the Concourse and Car Park facilities.

From 2005 to 2012, Scott practiced in the UK and was involved in the design and delivery of Westfield's major retail centres in London, including Stratford City part of the Olympic Park redevelopment. He was also involved in the substructure redesign at Heathrow Terminal 2 and the design of a forty-story commercial office tower in the City of London.

David Seel

David joined Robert Bird Group in 2001 and has worked on a variety of projects in the United Kingdom, Europe, North America and Australia. David has been based in the United Kingdom since 2006 where he led the UK branch of the Robert Bird Group’s Construction Engineering division before becoming the Managing Director of the UK business.

His experience includes the structural analysis and design of building structures and temporary works, the development of construction methodology and buildability alternatives, peer reviews and structural concept reviews. His projects include low and high-rise building structures, deep basement design and construction methods, submerged concrete structures and refurbishment of existing structures.

Hassan Taleb

Hassan’s experience covers all building sectors including commercial, residential, retail, airports, leisure and health.

Hassan is client focused and has worked alongside major contractors and clients developing optimum and economic design solutions for various building projects.

He has a proven track record in delivering large-scale projects working independently and as part of large integrated multidisciplinary teams.

Hassan has extensive experience in managing the design phase of projects and the engineering production of design teams, supporting the construction phase from commission to completion and handover.

Jason Langer

Since joining Robert Bird Group as a graduate in 2000, Jason has specialised in structural design for major projects, including high-rise commercial and residential towers, airports, complex industrial projects and major retail centres.

His skills in value engineering, management of the design process and project delivery are well recognized by the company’s clients.

Jason has acted as Structural Project Director with involvement from concept through to construction on numerous major projects up to $1 billion in value, on three continents.

Peter Joined RBG in 2010, and sits on the Corporate Board and the Risk & Compliance Committee. Peter manages Risk, Legal, Corporate Governance, HR and Administration globally for the Group.

Rob Bird Jr Robert Joined RBG in 2001. Over his 15 years with us, Robert has worked in our Brisbane, Cairns and Melbourne offices converting mining opportunities. Currently situated in our Sydney office as a Director, Robert is pursuing opportunities in the Infrastructure realm.
