North West Rail Line

Sydney

The North West Rail Line (now renamed Sydney Metro Northwest) is a $1.15Bn contract involving the construction of 15km twin 6.6m dia tunnels between Bella Vista and Epping in Sydney’s Northwest.

Robert Bird Group provided temporary works engineering support for the Thiess-John Holland-Dragados Joint Venture. This included design and supervision of temporary works and construction engineering for construction compounds, shaft gantries, platforms, TBM guide and mount structures, portal temporary works, and an innovative solution for rotating the TBM at the end of it’s drive.
