Managing Director (USA)
SawTeen joined Robert Bird Group in 2018 as Design Director; in February 2019 she became the Managing Director of RBG USA.
In her 40-year tenure with a top-tier engineering consultancy, SawTeen rose to Managing Partner (1990- 2017). She has extensive experience in the structural design of the full spectrum of building and structure types. As Partner-in-Charge, SawTeen led the structural design of some of the world’s tallest buildings including the 644-m PNB 118 Tower in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia (this is the project where RBG shared equally the structural engineering with LERA); the 555-m Lotte World Tower in Seoul, South Korea; and the 492-m Shanghai World Financial Center in Shanghai, China. Additionally, she led the peer review of two 530-m high rises in China, and dozens of other challenging projects throughout the world.
She was also the Partner-in-Charge of the design of many cultural, educational, and public facilities including the Miho Museum and Bridge in Kyoto, Japan; the NASCAR Hall of Fame & Museum in Charlotte, NC; the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia, PA; the Rock ‘N Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, OH; the Baltimore Convention Center Expansion, Baltimore, MD; the AIG Tower and Footbridge in Hong Kong; the Suzhou Museum in China; the landscaped pedestrian bridges in Suzhou China; the National Library of Latvia in Riga; and the new Temple University Library in Philadelphia, PA.
