• Ed Bond Principal

Ed is a Structural Engineer working out of the Melbourne office who brings a holistic design philosophy to his projects. Following successful delivery across global centers such as Melbourne, London, and Dubai he has developed a well-rounded approach to engineering. His career spanning over 18 years has given Ed the confidence to tackle projects covering a diverse sector spectrum. This experience varies in scale from intricate heritage refurbishments up to multi-billion mixed-use precincts.

As a champion for visual communication, he has led office hand sketching initiatives to aid engineers in articulating their thoughts. This form of visualisation has been used for assessing load paths in complex transfer structures such as the over station development 21 Moorfields (Deutche Bank, London). Similarly, Ed is a supporter of 3D digital technology and interconnected parametrics. This design approach was embedded during his time leading Melbourne Metro’s architecturally sculpted entrance canopies. Ed sees the importance of nurturing the next generation of engineers and has played an active role through leading IStructE chartership workshops and participating in university mentoring programmes. Ed has worked in the RBG London office delivering prestige projects such as 100 Bishopsgate, 21 Moorfields, and The Broadway. Ed is currently helping lead the Melbourne office in the buildings sector, after making the move to Australia in 2022.
