Mark Joined Robert Bird Group in 2015 . With over 25 years of experience focused on architectural engineering and digital design, Mark works globally to keep RBG at the forefront of the technology that delivers exceptional value for our clients. Mark also leads RBG’s Sports + Long Span Structures global team, often leading our major projects in this sector.
Through the course of his career, Mark has engineered many landmark projects including airports, stadiums, historic buildings, universities, commercial towers and residential developments. Mark has expertise in a number of specialist areas, including modular construction, non-conventional reinforced concrete, lightweight steel long-span structures, and deep basements. He is a key contributor to the development of design solutions for difficult urban sites, including acting as project director for 21 Moorfields and One Waterloo, both of which are long-span over-rail commercial developments with significant clear spans over fifty metres.
Mark sees excellent, ongoing relationships with clients and architects as key to effective engineering design. The strength of his interest in the work of these professionals is a source of many repeat commissions and, critically, often enables him to contribute to projects at the earliest stages. Mark also takes an active role in teaching and technical development of staff.
Prior to joining RBG, Mark has worked for 2 top tier Global Engineers Consultancies and has held Director and Global Engineering roles since 2006.
