Employment Type Full-time
Robert Bird Group (RBG) is a global consulting engineering firm committed to delivering each client’s vision through ‘the relentless pursuit of engineering excellence’ across all projects. We strive for good to great design by transforming inspiring concepts into buildable designs through innovative, collaborative, and proactive solutions.
RBG’s structures team delivers award-winning, complex, and architecturally iconic structure designs, including tall and super-tall buildings, stadiums, airports, metro stations, hospitals, and major retail centres. Our Structures team is adept in all modern construction materials and systems, not only in concrete, masonry, and steel but also in timber, aluminium and glass, structural fabrics, and composites. At the same time, sustainability is fundamental to the approach to design.
Our Brisbane team has engineered and is continuing to deliver some of the largest and most complex projects such as Cross River Rail, Queens Wharf and Jubilee Place.
Working with a technically skilled and cohesive team, you’ll have the opportunity to play a key role in assisting RBG in successfully delivering current and future projects. You will work with highly skilled and specialist Engineers, who provide solutions to overcome a wide range of technical challenges that contractors face when constructing buildings and infrastructure projects.
Investing in the future of engineering:
We are investing heavily in new forms of engineering delivery to include 4D BIM digital rehearsals using our Unity-based Reveal platform. Integrated with our BIM, analysis and Synchro programming tools, this is redefining the way clients and contractors plan and deliver their projects.
Created in-house by our own coding and programming teams, and in keeping with our desire to be at the forefront of the industry, we also offer opportunities for engineers wishing to use their existing experience – or upskill in the fields of parametric design, data science, coding, and programming.
We are also committed to fostering exceptional engineering talent who share our dedication to environmentally responsible design.
The successful applicant will have:
- 5- 10 years of post-qualification structural engineering experience
- Relevant academic qualifications
- Chartered status (CPEng) or the ability to obtain this
- Australian experience, including a sound understanding of AU Standards
- Creative problem-solving skills with a proactive approach
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide variety of people
- The desire to coach and mentor less experienced engineers/drafters
