Robert Bird Group is proud to be part of the team delivering the Olympia Theatre, a landmark cultural venue set to open in 2027 as part of the £1.3 billion transformation of Olympia in West London.
Developed through a historic joint venture between The Shubert Organization and Trafalgar Entertainment, the 1,575-seat Olympia Theatre will be the largest purpose-built theatre to open in London in nearly 50 years. Designed by Haworth Tompkins alongside Heatherwick Studio and SPPARC, the venue combines architectural ambition with audience comfort, featuring generous public spaces and enhanced seating dimensions.
The project includes considerable structural gymnastics to transition from open plan conference and exhibition space in the lower levels, through a 5-storey state-of-the-art theatre and topped by a 3-storey office space, spanning over the auditorium and experiencing panoramic views over West London.
Robert Bird Group is also delivering engineering services on the wider Olympia regeneration including:
- Exhibition and conference spaces for up to 20,000 people
- A 4,000-capacity live music venue (AEG Presents)
- Hotels by citizenM and Hyatt Regency
- 30+ restaurants, bars and eateries
- A co-educational senior school with a state-of-the-art community theatre
- A boutique gym by 1Rebel
- 550,000 sq ft of office space with some of London’s largest terraces
- New public spaces for all to enjoy
