Alasdair Sinclair
Senior Associate

Alasdair brings a wide range of structural engineering experience including design, assessment of existing buildings for seismic compliance, and peer reviews. His structural design work has included a wide variety of structural forms, including bespoke architecturally driven houses, industrial buildings, medium-rise office buildings, medium-rise residential blocks, and large-scale retaining walls.

He is particularly experienced in steel design and has worked with almost all structural materials, excluding glass and post‑tensioned concrete. Alasdair has been involved in the assessment and strengthening of buildings for seismic compliance since 2006. This work has included high‑rise reinforced concrete buildings, low‑rise unreinforced masonry structures, and a wide range of building types in between.

Alasdair also has a strong interest in peer reviews and expert witness work. He has undertaken numerous peer reviews during the design process, including the review of previous and legacy designs. His experience includes both desktop and intrusive investigations of existing buildings, with involvement ranging from providing remedial advice through to the preparation of briefs of evidence. This work aligns closely with his broader expertise in the seismic assessment of existing buildings.
