21 Moorfields, Deutsche Bank’s UK headquarters in the heart of the City of London, has been named Best Corporate Workplace at the BCO London awards.

Completed in 2022, the project is a landmark commercial development on a highly constrained urban site above Moorgate Station. Working with Landsec, Wilkinson Eyre, Sir Robert McAlpine and Mace, our engineers played a key role in unlocking the site’s full potential through innovative engineering solutions and close collaboration across the project team.

From the early stages, the scheme required a robust construction methodology to manage complex ground conditions and adjacent infrastructure. Engineering innovation was central to the delivery, including the introduction of pioneering ‘super piles’ installed deep through London’s geology to support the building and accommodate future over-site development.

The BCO award recognises not only the quality of the finished workplace, but also the rigorous thinking, problem-solving and teamwork required to deliver it. The result is a high-performing, flexible corporate environment that meets the needs of a modern banking headquarters while responding sensitively to its City context.

This recognition is shared with the entire project team who contributed to the successful delivery of a complex and ambitious development.
