At Robert Bird Group, we see sustainability as a responsibility that must be backed by measurable action. Our FY25 Science Based Targets Validation Report outlines a clear pathway to reduce emissions across our operations and value chain, including a commitment to reduce absolute Scope 1,2, and 3 emissions by 42% by 2030, and source 100% of office energy from renewable electricity by 2030.  

These commitments are supported by independent assessment. The Science Based Targets initiative has confirmed that RBG’s Scope 1,2, and 3 target ambition is aligned to a 1.5°C Paris Agreement trajectory, supporting global efforts to decarbonise our industry.   

In FY25, RBG continued to turn commitment into action. Melbourne moved onto a 100% green power agreement, joining Sydney, Brisbane and London. This contributed to a reduction in Scope 2 emissions at a pace ahead of the company’s annual target ambition.  

We are now focusing our efforts on the most challenging part of any company’s footprint, Scope 3 emission reductions across our supply chain. Although our Scope 3 emissions have been increasing from an absolute level, when accounting for company growth, our carbon emission intensity has remained level. The first step to moving that emissions intensity in a downward trend is to build integrity in our supply chain emissions data. This will allow us to target actions and initiatives where they have the most impact. To accomplish this, RBG has developed a process to gather emissions directly from our vendors, which we are rolling out across our major offices in 2026. Together, these actions reflect our commitment to building sustainability into how we work, how we engage with suppliers, and how we continue to improve over time.
