Andrew, with over two decades of experience in structural engineering, has been an integral part of Robert Bird Group (RBG) since 2007. His extensive expertise encompasses various facets of the field, including structural analysis, design, forensic investigation, remedial works, and site-based design coordination. Throughout his career, Andrew has demonstrated his proficiency across a wide spectrum of projects, ranging from civil infrastructure and high-rise buildings to long-spanning steel structures, mining projects, industrial facilities, and heritage buildings.
As leader of the Construction Engineering infrastructure team in RBG’s Melbourne office, Andrew focuses on facilitating contractors in developing and implementing innovative construction methodologies to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of complex projects. His specialisation lies in designing intricate temporary works systems and overseeing assessments, temporary support, and remediation efforts for existing structures.
Andrew’s impressive track record in delivering complex projects for tier 1 contractors has earned him recognition for his leadership and problem-solving skills. Operating across RBG offices in Melbourne, Brisbane, and Adelaide, as well as internationally in London and Switzerland, Andrew has played pivotal roles in designing temporary works and Construction Engineering for prestigious projects like the Adelaide Oval and Adelaide Convention Centre. He has also made significant contributions to the energy sector, leading the design of critical infrastructure such as a blast-resistant laboratory building and contributing to the structural and civil engineering design of major wind farm projects, including the Stockyard Hill Wind Farm in Victoria, Australia, the largest in the southern hemisphere.
Andrew has also led RBG’s team, designing the permanent structures for two of the cut and cover interchanges for the North East Link project in Melbourne.
