Over the last 15 years, Gerard (Ged) has accumulated extensive experience working on numerous landmark projects in Melbourne and beyond, both nationally and internationally. His involvement spans from initial concept development to construction execution. In this capacity, Ged has effectively communicated with internal teams of engineers as well as external partners, including builders, civil engineers, architects, service engineers, and quantity surveyors. He has developed strong time management skills to adhere to deadlines and maintains a keen attention to detail, ensuring that high- quality outcomes are delivered punctually.
Ged has significant experience within a BIM environment, executing projects aligned with government-led strategies, such as VDAS. He is proficient in authoring models and utilising clash detection software, as well as producing and coordinating 3D visual workflows, combined with expertise in data population and the management of data-rich models. In his role as BIM Manager (ANZ) at RBG, Ged is tasked with supporting operations across ANZ, ensuring compliance with ISO19650 delivery standards. He leads multidisciplinary production and technician teams for global projects, clearly defining roles and functions within the BIM framework. His responsibilities include overseeing BIM compliance across various projects, integration of BIM automation, and the effective use of BIM in construction engineering. As part of Group Digital Engineering Services, Ged works collaboratively with 3D parametric modellers, digital designers, and programmers to leverage building information data for performance assessments and project- specific analyses, from engineering to virtual construction.
