Hugo was educated at one of Portugal’s top engineering schools, and, following graduation, he worked in both Portugal and Brazil in both contracting and consulting engineering firms. This broad scope of work – ranging from small construction projects to the design of Olympic sports facilities – has given him a strong grounding in construction site health and safety, construction planning and commercial management, construction risk and design management, civil and structural engineering design, quality control and quality assurance (QA/QC) procedures, and lifecycle planning.

Following 4 years’ experience in Brazil, Hugo moved to London in 2017 and joined Robert Bird Group. Hugo has developed sound technical experience taking part to the design and development of complex structures in the Redevelopment of Battersea Power Station.
