Mahdi brings over twelve years of combined professional and academic experience at top-tier Australian structural consultancy and higher-education institutions. Mahdi is currently leading the Advanced Technical Services within Sydney and Engineering and Technology within Central (NSW+ACT) region. Mahdi holds solid technical knowledge and comprehensive skills in the nonlinear structural analysis, direct design, and detailing of a broad range of structures from various construction materials (concrete, steel, composite, timber, and masonry) and spanning across almost all sectors using available general-purpose or advanced commercial finite element software. Mahdi has an in-depth understanding of local and international design standards, and he is proudly an active member of the Australian concrete code committee (BD-002) and Australian Earthquake Engineering Society (AEES) including its Technical Committee TC02 for seismic assessment and retrofitting of existing structures. Mahdi has successfully led and/or managed some complex design projects and challenging research projects and has contributed to the structural design of some landmark projects across Australia including Crows Nest Metro Station, 8 Phillip Street Tower, Atlassian Central, Brookfield Place, Canberra Hospital Expansion, Cross River Rail, and West Gate Tunnel.
