Kai Tak Sports Park has achieved outstanding international recognition, winning two prestigious industry awards that celebrate excellence in design, delivery and impact.

The development has been named ‘Venue of the Year’ at The Stadium Business Awards 2026 – one of the highest honours in the global stadium and mega-events industry. This recognition marks a significant milestone for Hong Kong, reinforcing its position as a leading international hub for major events.

In addition, Kai Tak Sports Park has received the 2026 ULI Asia Pacific Award for Excellence, one of the property industry’s most respected accolades, recognising outstanding developments across the region.

Together, these awards highlight the scale, ambition and collaboration behind a project that is already making a meaningful contribution to the city’s cultural and economic landscape.

Delivering a technically demanding landmark

Robert Bird Group is proud to have played a key role in delivering the Main Stadium roof construction, working alongside Hip Hing Engineering to develop the construction methodology and erection sequence.

The project presented significant technical challenges, requiring innovative engineering approaches at every stage. Our team was responsible for designing complex temporary works and safely strand jacking more than 11,000 tonnes of roof steelwork into position. We also engineered key structural elements supporting gantries, lighting systems and large-scale video scoreboards.

This work formed a critical part of bringing one of Hong Kong’s most technically demanding and high-profile developments to life.
