Kai Tak Sports Park Shines at the openBIM Awards 2024

Kai Tak Sports Park has been recognised as the winner in the Design for Buildings category at the buildingSMART openBIM Awards 2024, demonstrating its exemplary use of openBIM in the built asset industry. The project also placed as a runner-up in the Construction for Buildings category, showcasing its innovative design and engineering achievements.

As the largest sports project in Hong Kong, Kai Tak Sports Park features a 50,000-seat Main Stadium with a retractable roof, a 10,000-seat Indoor Sports Centre and Arena, and a 5,000-seat Public Sports Ground.

Robert Bird Group was engaged by Hip Hing Engineering Co. Ltd. as the Technical Consultant to provide Construction Engineering Services, including developing the Construction Methodology and Erection Sequence (CMES) and conducting detailed staged construction analysis of the Main Stadium Roof Structure amongst other tasks. Our involvement ensured the successful execution of this landmark project, contributing to its recognition at the awards.
