We are pleased to announce Robert Bird Group has been engaged by Shinsegae E&C (SSG) to work on the Cheongna SSG Baseball Stadium project in Incheon, South Korea.

This state-of-the-art stadium, developed by the Shinsegae Group, will serve as the new home for the SSG Landers, a professional baseball team competing in the KBO League. Notably, the stadium will be uniquely integrated with the new Starfield shopping mall, making it the world’s first baseball stadium of its kind. The architecturally impressive stadium features a long span, domed, steel roof which will cover its 21,000 seats, along with a hotel and infinity pool.

In early December, our own Dustin Lam, Dan Hill and Soon Kim Koh had the privilege to visit the site and meet with SSG’s site team representatives: Jungho Lee, Kyungwoo Kwon, Hongseok Oh, Junhyuk Son and Namho Kim.

Our team will assist SSG in developing the Construction Methodology and Erection Sequence (CMES) for the stadium roof structure which involves strand jacking the roof into position. We are also providing staged construction analysis (SCA) advice to assist with verifying the safety of the roof during construction. Leveraging our expertise, we are committed to driving the safe and successful delivery of this landmark development.
