Robert Bird Group proudly announces the endorsement of our inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) by Reconciliation Australia, marking our formal commitment to reconciliation in Australia.
Employees across our Australian offices gathered remotely and in person to celebrate this milestone. Hosted from our Brisbane headquarters and streamed to all offices, the celebration featured a moving Welcome to Country and performance by Song Woman Baringa Barambah Meeanjinu, who shared her inspiring personal journey. Jason Beutel, Senior Executive Director of Service Lines, and our RAP Champion, Jo Levett, spoke about our growing partnerships with First Nations persons and businesses, including FigJam & Co, Turrbal Dippil, Yilay, SNAP Printing Underwood, Indigenous Cultural Awareness Facilitator Tom Kirk, and artist Dan Evans. Distinguished guests included Darren Beattie from Engineers Australia and Karen Dare from Communify (Bindi Bindi Place).
“This journey holds particular significance for us, as much of our work takes place across the vast landscapes of Australia, including many projects on Aboriginal land. Acknowledging and honouring the traditional custodians of these lands, and respecting their connection to Country, are essential principles in how we conduct our business. Our Reflect RAP gives us a structured framework to embed these principles into our practices, to ensure that respect, understanding, and unity guide us in every step forward.” – Jason Beutel
Our Reflect RAP outlines practical steps we’re taking to build genuine connections with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. From embedding cultural awareness in our everyday practices to creating new opportunities for First Nations businesses in our supply chain, we’re focused on actions that make a real difference.
This RAP represents the beginning of an ongoing journey where reconciliation becomes part of who we are and how we work at Robert Bird Group.
