The Chelsea is located on Hamilton Place at Bowen Hills. The development contains 190 units ranging from one bed to three bed apartments. The innovative design incorporated alfresco dining suites at the building perimeter to take advantage of the subtropical climate. Robert Bird Group was engaged from concept through to construction to design the concrete structure for the building. Significant and interesting aspects of the project and Robert Bird Group’s role include the following:

• The structural system consists of concrete shear cores for lateral load resistance, and concrete flat plates and concrete columns.
• The tower facade includes precast elements which were designed to act as load bearing elements.
• The towers land onto a transfer slab at Ground Floor to allow for transferring column loads into the basements below.
