The Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences

Project Description

Located on The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai, The Royal Atlantis is a mixed-use hotel and residences consisting of 6 towers rising approximately 187m above the ground and therefore is the tallest project yet to be built on The Palm. The towers are linked together at the podium levels which serve as a shared lobby and amenity space for both. The hotel and residential towers are also connected by a 50-meter-long sky bridge that links the 18th through 22nd floors of the two towers. This iconic project is a challenging project, especially considering the constructability of the main structural elements.

Project Description

RBG was engaged by the Besix-SsangYong JV to provide consulting structural engineering services on the design of various temporary structures such as tower crane foundations, tower crane ties, concrete placing boom collar supports, hoist base designs & third-party review of formwork & back propping using multiple proprietary systems viz. RMD, PERI, SATECO, SGB. A team of 6 Engineers is set up on-site to work closely with the site team in order to ensure smooth coordination and assist the JV with the challenging programme and site priorities.
RBG is also engaged for the independent design verification of around 5,500MT structural steel which includes sky-courts, cantilever structures, and a 50-meter-long sky bridge.
