Yamma Bridge
Project Description
Designing and constructing the Yamma Bridge was a complex engineering challenge, which took into account the safe passing over of the freight flyover while achieving accessibility-compliant gradients for pedestrians.
The bridge is an architecturally designed cable stay bridge approximately 480m long with a cable stay spire of approximately 45m high. The main deck level will be approximately 20m above the ground, and the western and eastern approach ramps will be 4.65m wide, with the main span being 6.25m wide.
Project Metrics
- More than 1600 tonnes of steel
- 1.2 km of handrail
- More than 16km of welds
- 43m tall pylons
- 683m of cable stay
- Five individual steel girders with the heaviest weighing 133 tonnes
- Bridge girders are connected using 448 bolts.
