Joe graduated from the University of Queensland in 1982, before commencing his journey with Robert Bird Group in 1994. Throughout his extensive career, Joe has amassed a diverse range of structural experience, spanning medium to high-rise residential and commercial buildings, retail and mixed-use developments, waterfront projects, health and hospital facilities, educational institutions, industrial warehouses, airports, and infrastructure projects. His expertise encompasses various project aspects, including planning, design, design management, and construction.

He has played a pivotal role in leading design teams from concept through to construction phase on major projects such as the Grand Central Shopping Centre Redevelopment, Sunshine Coast University Private Hospital, Brisbane Domestic Airport Multilevel Carpark, Springfield Education City, Polaris Data Centre, and QIMR Clive Berghofer Cancer Research Centre in Brisbane, Australia.
