• Paulo Silva Director

With over 20 years of industry experience, Paulo’s expertise encompasses a broad range of project typologies, including healthcare, high-rise towers, airport and railway terminals, sports stadia, large mixed-use commercial and residential developments, and high-profile cultural buildings. This includes assignments undertaken in Europe, the Middle East and the USA, giving him in-depth knowledge of European, American and other international design best practice and codes.

He has a passion for complex and technically challenging projects and enjoys working with clients, architects and fellow construction professionals to achieve a well-designed and delivered end-product that matches the delivery teams’ collective expectations.

Paulo’s latest project is Phase 3 of the Battersea Power Station Redevelopment, a large mixed-use development in central London that includes an oversite development above a new underground station. Bounded on all sides by Victorian-era infrastructure, the listed power station building and major utility routes, the project has been challenging and fun, with numerous RBG-led innovations providing significant safety, cost and time benefits. These most notably included rationalised structural framing, the innovative use of the permanent works for temporary works construction sequencing, and advanced analysis of the ground conditions to mitigate the need for significant temporary propping.

Prior to joining RBG Paulo has successfully delivered numerous international projects. These include the new Heydar Aliyev International Airport terminal in Baku, The Landmark Tower in Abu Dhabi, the Al Maha Center for Children and Young People in Al Wakra, the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture in Damman, and the Abu Dhabi Media Zone.
