Sydney Metro

RBG is part of the METRON design consortium which includes Arcadis, Mott McDonald, Foster + Partners, Architectus, RBG and others. The METRON design consortium was awarded the Underground Station Design and Technical Services (USDTS) contract as part of Stage 2 of the Sydney Metro project.

This package of work includes six underground stations (not including Central Station) in and around the Sydney CBD and North Sydney, including dives at either end of the tunnels and ancillary buildings. These stations will be the largest in the Sydney Metro network. RBG provided structural, civil, construction and blast engineering services to the METRONJV to assist in delivering the preliminary design for all sites, as well as the final deliverables for Barangaroo Station and the Sydney Metro Stabling Facility.

  •  Waterloo Station is located approx. 25m below ground level in the heart of the Waterloo precinct.
  •  Barangaroo Station is approx. 25m below ground level, servicing Sydney's newest business hub.
  •  Pitt Street Station has two station entrances, approx. 17m (north end) to 20m (south end) below ground level, located in the Sydney CBD.
  • Victoria Cross Station is approx. 31m below ground level, located in the heart of the North Sydney business district.
  • Martin Place Station has two entrances, approx. 25m (north end) and 27m (south end) below ground level, located in the heart of Sydney's CBD.
  • Crows Nest Station is approx. 25m below ground level, located in the Crows Nest residential area.
