RBG is part of the METRON design consortium which includes Arcadis, Mott McDonald, Foster + Partners, Architectus, Robert Bird Group and others. This package of work includes six underground stations (not including Central Station) in and around the Sydney CBD and North Sydney dives at either end of the tunnels and ancillary buildings.

These stations will be the largest in the Sydney Metro network.

Waterloo Station

Is an underground station, located approx. 25 metres below ground level, in the heart of the Waterloo precinct.

Barangaroo Station

Is an underground station, approx. 25 metres below ground level, servicing Sydney’s newest business hub.

Pitt Street Station

Is an underground station with two station entrances, approx. 17 metres (north end) to 20 metres (south end) below ground level, located in the Sydney CBD.

Victoria Cross Station

Is an underground station, approx. 31 metres below ground level, located in the heart of the North Sydney business district.

Martin Place Station

Is an underground station with two station entrances, approx. 25 (north end) and 27 (south end) metres below ground level, located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD.

Crows Nest Station

Is an underground station, about 25 metres below ground level, located in the Crows Nest residential area.

Station features will include:

  • New pedestrian crossings
  • New taxi, kiss and ride bays and bike parking
  • New on-road marked cycle links
  • Relocation of bus stops where necessary
  • Traction substation integrated into the station buildings
  • Wayfinding signage and Sydney Metro information.
  • Enhancement of pedestrian infrastructure around the stations
