David is a Chartered Structural Engineer with a career characterised by innovation and a deep understanding of construction techniques. He brings value to projects by challenging programme duration’s, improving programme confidence and reducing material use. Safety in design is a top priority – besides the obvious benefits it also always leads to practical and buildable solutions that everyone can get behind.

David’s engineering and construction experience cover: adaptation, refurbishment and repair of historic – including listed – buildings; long-span steel structures; mixed-use RC; seismic and non-seismic steel sports arenas and stadia; glazed and ETFE structures; flying shores and kingposts for deep basements; cofferdams; top-down and jump-start construction; underpinning; hydraulic jacking and lifting systems; complex formwork design; DfMA pre-cast concrete design; and nuclear.

Graduating in 2002, David joined RBG in 2011 and lead the Construction Engineering (CE) team between 2015 and 2019 growing it to 27 strong before handing over leadership. During his tenure as CE leader, he drove a focus on practical first principles engineering and brought rigour to the internal management of RBG projects.
