James Deane-Butcher

James joined Robert Bird Group in Melbourne in 2009, relocating to our Adelaide office in 2015 where he currently leads the team as the region’s General Manager. James’ many accomplishments include graduating from the University of Sydney in 2002 with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering and from the Swinburne University of Technology Melbourne in 2011 with a Master’s in Construction Management. With over 20 years of experience, James has played a key role in the structural design of numerous multi-storey and infrastructure projects, including rail and major roads, commercial, retail and residential as well as major sports facilities and convention centres. Some of the key projects James has worked on since joining RBG include the Adelaide Oval Redevelopment, Adelaide Convention Centre, T1 Bifurcation Roof, New Perth Stadium and OSDP Osborne and Darlington. His construction engineering expertise includes construction sequencing, staged erection analysis, and temporary works design.
