Three awards of excellence at CTBUH 2021

Kicking 2021 off to a great start! Three Robert Bird Group projects have been recognised as an ‘Award of Excellence’ winner in multiple categories at the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat – CTBUH Awards Program 2021.

Darling Square – Urban Habitat – District/Master Plan Scale Award of Excellence.

RBG were the structural engineers for the masterplan phase of the development, and subsequently also provided full structural design and documentation for the first phase of the development, the SW Plot.

One Barangaroo, Sydney – Best Tall Building 200-299 meters Award of Excellence.

This is now Sydney’s tallest building, providing an impressive new visual marker for the waterfront’s regeneration at the northwest corner of the CBD. Robert Bird Group have been involved in the project since 2013 and brought global expertise in tall tower projects with a top-down jump start construction technique. It is a first for Sydney and a technique that provides significant programme savings.

100 Bishopsgate, London – Best Tall Office Building Award of Excellence.

The tower at 100 Bishopsgate provides extraordinarily large, rectangular floor plates that are difficult to achieve in the City of London.  RBG’s modified full top-down construction sequence saved six months from the programme, and enabled Brookfield to go to the market for key tenants with a much-improved offer, resulting in the securement of an anchor tenant early in the construction process, and a building 70% let 20 months ahead of practical completion.
