Phil is a highly committed and proactive structural engineer with more than 18 years of experience in management, leadership, design, coordination, and detailing of building structures. He has been responsible for the successful completion of an extensive range of multi-disciplinary projects in the UK, Europe and the Middle East and has a particular interest and expertise in the design of reinforced, prestressed and hybrid (precast) concrete buildings.
As an engineer and a team leader, Phil has a thorough, thoughtful and methodical approach to working. In addition to striving for technical excellence he promotes the use and development of documented systems and processes with the aim of achieving project excellence.
Prior to joining Robert Bird Group (RBG) in Dubai, Phil was a member of the Technical Committee for the Post-Tensioning Association, UK and was actively involved in the working group responsible for developing guidance on best practice in the design, specification, procurement and execution of post-tensioned structures. He is also currently a corresponding member of fib Task Group 1.3 – Buildings. The objective of this fib Task Group is to prepare state-of-the-art reports, guidelines and recommendations on the use of concrete in the design and construction of concrete buildings.
