Project Description

Originally the ASX building, 530 Collins Street is a landmark tower with 36 stories of office space and 4 basement levels. Robert Bird Group have been the building engineers for some time, providing structural design, assessments and advice on all works within the building including new tenancy fitouts, structural condition reviews and refurbishments.

Base Building Upgrades

• Basement refurbishment including new end-of-trip facilities and plant platforms.
• New stairs and lift core from ground floor to basement.
• New structural steel façade.
• Ongoing, regular support for structural works including base build modifications, new tenancy fitouts, load checks of existing floors and upgrades / retrofits for new use.

Level 2-3 Fitout

• New fitout including a new internal stair between level 2 and 3.
• Assessment of existing structure for new stair and penetration.
• Design of the new steel trimmer beams to support the slab penetration at Level 3, as well as the curved steel stair structure, which was primarily suspended from the Level 3 steelwork.
• Ceiling and partition bracing design for seismic loads.
