Principal Place
Principal Place is a mixed-use development, including a 50-storey residential tower and 20-storey commercial building, constructed alongside the railway corridor into London’s Liverpool St Station.
For Brookfield Multiplex, RBG designed a suspended steel grillage to support piling rig loads up to 200t. The grillage is supported by minipiles in order to prevent overloading the adjacent rail tunnel, and a unique system of tertiary steel and timber cassettes will be used to create a working platform.
In addition, RBG have been engaged by concrete frame contractors Byrne Brothers to finite element analyse and design the slip-formed core of the commercial building for the temporary state, including temporary bracing and additional reinforcing. The core will support a tower crane, and RBG design includes a bespoke steel grillage for this purpose.
