Project ABC is a new mixed-use residential development proposed on Dominion Road, Auckland. This project will see the formation of a new community, well supported by on site and adjacent amenity, in a city fringe location. It will provide 122 new homes, a new supermarket, and refurbished commercial office space.
The main structural podium is formed of post-tensioned concrete to provide the thinnest overall structural zone whilst addressing the mixed use criterias and waterproofing risks. Volumetric Modular units sit on top of the podium and form the upper residential levels, reducing the overall construction program.
Civil engineering challenges exist due to the presence of variable ground conditions and basalt, existing overland flow path flooding to manage through the site, upgrades to servicing utilities, and frontage to a busy arterial road.
